The legendary Egyptian defensive midfielder Hossam Ashour spent 17 years at the center of Egyptian powerhouse Al-Ahly’s midfield and amassed an absurd number of trophies; maybe the name on this list that European football fans are least familiar with.
Due to Al-Ahly’s recent supremacy in their domestic division, Ashour has won 13 league titles, four Egypt Cups, and ten Egypt Super Cups.
Ashour’s accomplishments on the African continent, however, are equally remarkable. He has won six African Champions League medals and six African Super Cups for 39 titles at the club.
4. Maxwell – 37 Trophies
The player after him doesn’t have quite the same stature in the European game as players like Pique or Iniesta, but he has won just as many trophies—several of which were earned while playing for the same Barcelona squad.
Maxwell, who moved to Europe from his native Brazil in 2001, had already won numerous titles at other clubs before he joined the Catalan team in 2008.
He had been a key player in two Eredivisie title victories with Ajax before joining Inter and winning Serie A three times.
After having a fantastic few seasons in La Liga, he moved to France and won four Ligue 1 titles with PSG.
5. Andres Iniesta – 37 Trophies

7. Sergio Busquets – 36 Trophies
In the latter stages of his career, Sergio Busquets joined Lionel Messi at Inter Miami after ending an incredible stint as a player at La Liga powerhouse Barcelona during the summer.
Upon leaving Spain’s top division, Busquets became one of the most successful players in the team’s history, winning 36 titles over his 15 years as a stalwart of the Barca first squad.
This incredible total includes three Champions League championships, a La Liga title, and a Copa Del Rey.
Importantly, Busquets also enjoyed great success with the Spanish national team, contributing significantly to their victories in the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship.
8. Ryan Giggs – 36 Trophies
Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Ryan Giggs was a sensation for Manchester United. He established himself as a Premier League mainstay and earned a reputation for making pinpoint passes and seeing crosses (he currently holds the eighth-most assists in soccer history).
Giggs won 13 Premier League titles, two UEFA Champions Leagues, numerous FA Cup and League Cups, and more during the most prosperous stretch in the Red Devils’ history.
The fact that he’s on this list is even more remarkable, considering that throughout this time, his country, Wales, wasn’t even making it to the main tournaments, much less winning them.
9. Cristiano Ronaldo – 35 Trophies
Cristiano Ronaldo has undergone an incredible transformation since making his professional debut for Lisbon’s dominant Sporting CP in 2002.
Following his rise to prominence as a deft winger in Portugal, CR7 transferred to United, where he significantly improved his skills and emerged as a critical member of Fergie’s wildly successful teams in the mid-late 2000s.
But it was with Real Madrid that Ronaldo became an unstoppable goal scorer—a physically commanding center-forward with a deadly finishing ability.
On the way to becoming one of the greatest players of all time, he won an incredible 35 trophies (shared with Dalglish).
These included three straight Champions League victories with Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United, and a European Championship with Portugal.
10. Kenny Dalglish – 35 Trophies
During a decade dominated by Sir Alex Ferguson’s rampaging Manchester United team, which included players like Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, and Ryan Giggs, Kenny Dalglish made history as manager of Blackburn Rovers in the 1994–1995 season by winning them the Premier League title for the first time (more on him shortly).
But the Scotsman’s playing career made him famous, and his trophy haul from his time at Celtic and Liverpool was incredible.
Dalglish won 35 trophies in all, including three European Cups in 1977–78, 1980–81, and 1983–84—possibly the most remarkable of which were six First Division crowns and an FA Cup.
