In the maternity ward of a hospital, Valmiki (Murali Sharma) exchanges his son for Ramchandra’s (Jayaram) son out of jealousy because the latter has been endowed with all fortune and fame in his life. Valmiki wants his biological son to experience a regal life and inherit the entire property and business of Ramchandra when he grows up.

Meanwhile, Valmiki promises Ramchandra’s biological son that he would grow up to be middle-class like him, and in honor of his animosity toward his boss, he gives the boy the name Bantu (Allu Arjun). A look back 20 years shows that Valmiki’s animosity for Bantu has grown so intense that he can only do one thing well: shout and discourage him whenever he does something wrong.

After getting his ideal job, Bantu falls head over heels in love with Amulya, the travel agency manager (Pooja Hegde). It takes a while for Bantu to earn her love, but in the end, he succeeds in doing so. Suddenly, Bantu’s life takes a turn for the worst when he discovers that his father, Valmiki, has swapped him in the hospital. After then, the remainder of the plot takes shape.

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Review

Allu Arjun never fails to please his devoted followers and admirers. The actor, who had been away from the big screen for about two years, has achieved his goal of giving an outstanding performance in the film.

Murali Sharma’s portrayal of Valmiki is skin deep as he effortlessly pulls off the character’s grey hues, a feat that few actors can accomplish. For her role as Amulya the boss lady, Pooja Hegde gets a thumbs up since, in addition to being a boss, she’s an unwavering supporter of Bantu aka Allu Arjun throughout his life’s challenges.

In the first part of the film, Tabu’s role as Anjali is underutilized; nevertheless, after the intermission, the actress shines as a wife and a mother. His cool and tranquil demeanor as Ramchandra, the wealthy business mogul with minimal attitude, is easily pulled off by Jayaram.

A tremendous screen presence and powerful language by Samuthirakani as Appala Naidu (the film’s main antagonist) ensure that he doesn’t get lost in the action and keeps the audience engaged.

Sachin Khedekar as ARK, the father, father-in-law, and grandfather of Allu Arjun’s character Bantu, does a wonderful job at portraying all three roles. Trivikram Srinivas and Allu Arjun are back again for their third film as a director-actor team. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is the third time the pair has worked together, following Julayi (2012) and S/O Sathymurthy (2015).

Allu Arjun films have always had a strong soundtrack. S Thaman’s musical compositions with Samajavargamana, Ramuloo Ramulaa, OMG Daddy, and Butta Bomma had already made it to the top of the charts before the film’s premiere. Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde’s chemistry in Samajavargamana and Butta Bomma, together with the former’s graceful gestures and beautiful locales in the background, was a delight to watch on the big screen.
