India is an influential country in cricket. Virat Kohli’s board changed the schedule of world cricket for the benefit of the BCCI. This has been seen in the 2020 T20 World Cup and Asia Cup. The Indian board had to postpone the 14th edition of the IPL in the middle. The BCCI was forced to suspend their franchise league due to coronavirus. There are still 31 matches left in this league. The BCCI wants to host the remaining matches of the suspended league in the UAE next September-October.

Meanwhile, the Caribbean Premier League is scheduled to start on August 28. It will end on September 19. Many of the world’s cricketers will play in the CPL. After finishing CPL, they will not be able to participate in IPL in due time. There is a matter of quarantine on him. Due to which those participating in CPL will have to miss some matches of IPL.

But BCCI wants him in all IPL matches. Due to which they have applied to the Caribbean Board to withdraw the CPL. Top Indian board officials have already started liaising with top Caribbean board officials. They requested to change the schedule of CPL.

“We are discussing the matter with Cricket West Indies,” a BCCI official told PTI. It is hoped that if the CPL can be completed a few days earlier, the cricketers can be brought from one zone to another in Dubai in time and their required three-day retreat before the start of the tournament will be completed.
