Bumrah holds a rare world record as a bowler
In white ball cricket, if a match is tied, it is resolved through a super over. In this system, victory or defeat is determined through one over. Super over is the ideal opportunity for batsmen in this era of mercurial cricket. Super over is the most difficult time for bowlers. But here is the unique Indian fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah. Jaspreet Bumrah holds a rare world record that no other bowler has.
So far, a total of 9 super overs have been seen in 12 editions of IPL. Out of these 9 matches, only two bowlers have done more than one super over. One is James Faulkner of Australia and the other is Jaspreet Bumrah of India. However, as the only bowler in IPL history, Bumrah bowled in two super overs and won both. No other bowler has that record, the only owner here is Bumrah.
Bumrah bowled for the first time in 2016 against Gujarat Lions in a super over. He spent only 6 runs that day. Which is collectively Mitchell Johnson’s lowest run-scoring record in 2015. And the last time Bumrah gave only 6 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019. Mumbai Indians also won that day.
