Chris Gayle to Play in CPL 2021

Chris Gayle to Play in CPL 2021

Chris Gayle withdrew from the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) last season due to the severity of the coronavirus. However, after one season, Chris Gayle, the Universe Boss will play in CPL 2021 again.

Gayle will play for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots next season. CPL authorities have confirmed the news of Gayle’s return after a season. In addition to this peddler of T20 cricket, the franchise has already brought in cricketers like Dwayne Bravo and Sherfan Rutherford.

Gayle played for Jamaica Talawash in the first four seasons of the CPL. Then in 2016, he joined St. Kitts for the fifth season. He has also captained the team there. He showed great performance with the bat and took the team to the final.

However, he returned from Jamaica in 2019. After playing one season there, the club got involved in a fight with the then coach due to batting failure. Then in the 2020 season, St. Kitts added him to the team. But stay away from that event last year.

If all goes well, this year’s CPL event will start on August 28. The event will end in mid-September. Due to coronavirus, the event will be held in one venue like last time. However, this time 50 percent of the visitors are allowed to enter. Those who have been vaccinated can enter the field only by buying tickets.
