Cyberpunk 2077 has full Lip Syncing Animation for 10 Dubbed languages
Cyberpunk 2077 will have a strong dose of realism when it releases on November 19. During the technology and infographics-focused Siggraph 2020 online presentation, CD production company Projekt RED revealed that the game will be lip-synced in real time in 10 languages, including French, thanks to the ‘artificial intelligence.
The presentation, posted on YouTube and with the participation of Mateusz Poplawski, Cyberpunk 2077 character director. He explains that the inclusion of realistic lip-syncing for so many languages was made possible by the implementation of an animation toolkit called Jali.

With Jali, producers used hundreds of sentences recorded in multiple languages to train artificial intelligence based on the phonemes that came out with each word. Thus the synchronization was made with the movement of the character’s mouth, to move according to the phoneme.
The explanation was also given by Chris Landreth, who demonstrated, in real-time, how the 3D model behaves according to the heard sentence, moving slowly and adapting over time.
