The Rose Bowl in Southampton will host the third and final T20I between England and Sri Lanka on Saturday evening. The hosts have a 2-0 series lead and are hoping to sweep the foreign squad with a win in the last game. Following an easy 8-wicket victory in the first T20I, England grabbed an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series with a 5-wicket victory in the second T20I.
Sri Lanka scored 111-7 in the first innings after electing to bat again, due to Kusal Mendis’ 39 off 39 balls. Due to rain, the second innings were cut short to 18 overs, and the hosts were given a revised goal of 103 runs to chase. England was quickly reduced to 36-4, but the hosts were able to win because of a strong combination between Sam Billings and Liam Livingstone.
Prior to the third T20I, Sri Lanka must address a few issues, particularly in the batting area. They have failed to put up a good score on the board, which has been the main reason for their failure in both of their previous encounters; the match will begin at 7:00 PM IST.
