Facebook Introduces Rights Manager to Protect Image Rights

Facebook is testing a new tool named Facebook Rights Manager to protect the image rights which will allow users to claim ownership of images and send requests to remove them.

Rights Manager uses image matching technology. If the algorithms find matches, the system will send the right holder a message about the use of a photo or image and offer several options for action with the found content: monitoring, adding a link to the original source, or blocking.

In the settings, you can set the geographical boundaries of the search – from around the world to certain cities and countries.

Facebook has not announced with which partners it is testing the new tool, and we do not yet know when it will be available to more users.
