Fortnite players on iOS and macOS will not be able to get the update
With the ongoing litigation between Apple and Epic Games, Fortnite players on iOS and macOS will not be able to get the update, which will begin to spread tomorrow.
Epic has confirmed to The Verge that Fortnite players on iOS, iPad and Mac will also not be able to play with their friends on other platforms. This solution will divide Fortnite’s player base into two parts: PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC and Android players will have access to all new content dedicated to the Marvel universe, and iOS and macOS users will be stuck on patch 13.40, released in August.
Epic started an antitrust war against Apple when it tried to bypass the 30 percent App Store commission. Apple then removed the game from the app store and was ready to block all programs that use Unreal Engine from Epic. This week, a judge issued an interim injunction prohibiting the latter.
