Huawei Gentle Monster Eyewear II glasses use speakers and microphones instead of AR screens
Last year, Huawei introduced a pair of smart and one-of-a-kind glasses, the ” GENTLE MONSTER Eyewear “, designed for fashion-conscious consumers. Today, the company is back with a second-generation version of these glasses, Huawei Gentle Monster Eyewear II Glasses which now feature a much cleaner design and smarter functions.
The temples of the GENTLE MONSTER II glasses are made of titanium plastic for a lower density and a lighter weight. This should ensure greater wearing comfort for the user. For its part, Huawei has built the hinges of the temples in elastic titanium to increase the holding force of the glasses.
The glasses also feature a 20-degree angle for the earpiece, which is a huge improvement over the 12-degree angle of its predecessor. Users will also feel a noticeable difference in the sound quality of the glasses. The large amplitude speaker inside is bigger and thinner. These improvements translate into a much larger soundstage, allowing for a more immersive experience than ever before.
As before, smart glasses still feature a unique acoustic design that adapts to the user and their surroundings. Two semi-open speakers on either side of the branches transmit sound directly through a directional chamber, reducing leakage and providing a stereo-like listening experience. To further reduce sound leakage, the temple has a leak hole that compensates for sound waves.
Huawei Gentle Monster Eyewear II Glasses Features
The glasses also feature adaptive volume technology that allows the volume of the speakers to be lowered or raised according to ambient noise. The Gentle Monster Eyewear II glasses also feature updated gesture controls. Pairing glasses is now much simpler, with users only having to pinch their left temple to initiate the process. At the same time, double-tapping the left temple activates the glass’s voice assistant.
Gliding gestures are also included in the glasses. A few taps on the temples can either play the next/previous song or increase/decrease the volume of the glasses. The glasses also intelligently detect their state of wear. For example, it automatically pauses any music that is playing when a user removes it.
It also displays a battery status window on the accompanying smartphone if the user turns it on after a long period of inactivity. Pressing this window opens the glasses settings, allowing the user to check and adjust them. In addition, the glasses greet the user when they put them on for the first time each day.
Huawei rates the GENTLE MONSTER Eyewear II glasses for five hours of continuous music playback. These glasses are more efficient than their predecessors, because they incorporate a new NFC wireless charging technology that allows them to be recharged quickly and without problems, anytime and anywhere.
