Lenovo Ideapad L340-15IRH Gaming Laptop Review

As you can see the iron in the laptop is really good, as for the initial level. It is equipped with a powerful quad-core Intel i5-9300H processor, which will be enough for modern games and work tasks. It should be noted that this is a productive H-series processor with a heat pack of 45W, which shows itself well in resource-intensive tasks, but consumes a lot of energy.

The processor supports Hyper-Threading technology, thanks to which it has 8 threads with 4 physical cores. Thanks to Turbo-Boost, the processor frequency is accelerated from the base 2.4 GHz to 4.1 GHz. The temperature for difficult tasks is kept within 70-80 degrees, which is quite adequate.

The graphics component is responsible for the GeForce GTX 1050 3 GB GDDR5 graphics card, which will be able to provide good performance in e-sports games at Full HD resolution, and in the latest projects, unfortunately, will have to set low-average settings to get a good fps. However, the video card shows itself well, if you do not play the latest innovations in the gaming industry.

I was especially pleased with the amount of memory because laptops in this price segment often have 8 GB of RAM, which is not enough nowadays, especially for a gaming laptop. The amount of internal memory is also very good, a separate advantage is the presence of an SSD, which provides high system speed. For games, programs, and media there is a fairly large HDD of 1 TB.

There is a good set of connectors for connecting external peripherals – the model is equipped with two full USB-A 3.0, one USB-C, 3.5 mm minijack for connecting headphones, HDMI for connecting an external display, Ethernet and Kensington Lock. Charging is not via USB-C but via the company’s Slim Tip connector.

Unfortunately, the autonomy of the laptop is not at the highest level. You are guaranteed to need a charger during the working day. The maximum that you should expect – about 4-5 hours of office work at not the maximum brightness, and this, of course, will not be enough for everyone.

It should be understood that such autonomy is a direct consequence not only of the most voluminous battery, the volume of which is 45 W / h, but also of a powerful filling, which allows us to solve rather resource-intensive tasks and, accordingly, consumes a lot of energy. Low battery life is quite typical for gaming laptops in general, so we can not call it a disadvantage.

The display is quite good, although the main emphasis on the laptop is not on it. It has an IPS-matrix with Full HD resolution and a brightness of 250 nits, which is enough for comfortable use. The viewing angles of the display in the Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15 Gaming are quite good, which is typical for IPS-matrices.

You should also pay attention to the matte finish of the display, thanks to which it does not glare indirect light. This option is best suited for games because during the game the display does not show reflections and glare.

Design and feel

The laptop is not very heavy and compact enough, given that it is a gaming model with a diagonal of 15 inches – it weighs just over two kilograms and is 2.4 centimeters thick. The laptop opens easily with one hand, and it can be opened almost to a horizontal position.

I was comforted by the presence of a curtain for the webcam, which will be a plus for many users who are concerned about privacy and who often seal the webcam. The body of the model is made of plastic with a metal coating, there is a beautiful element with the Lenovo logo.

Keyboard and trackpad

We especially liked the laptop keyboard, which has a short stroke and is therefore ideal for typing. At the same time, it is quite quiet and pleasant, for many the advantage will be the presence of a full-fledged Numpad. For comfortable work there is an unusual blue backlight, there is a choice between two levels of brightness when dialing.

The touchpad is quite good, its main advantage is the size and good click that is felt. It can be used in non-gaming tasks, as an analog of a mouse, and I want to highlight its accuracy – the sensor really accurately transmits user gestures.

According to the review, the Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15 Gaming Laptop is a pretty interesting option to play games. For less than $1,000, the buyer gets a new processor with decent performance, 16 GB of RAM, a fast SSD, and a discrete video, which allows you to run most games with graphics settings below the average.

It is also worth noting the concise and stylish design and ergonomics. Unfortunately, there were compromises, namely not the highest autonomy, and a video card. In general, this is a great inexpensive laptop for resource-intensive office work, with periodic gaming.

As we mentioned at the beginning, Lenovo also provided us with Lenovo Legion H300 Stereo Gaming Headset, Legion M500 RGB Gaming Mouse, and a large Legion Gaming Cloth XL. It is necessary to understand in order what these accessories have advantages, disadvantages, and whether they deserve your attention.

Lenovo Legion H300 headphones

All devices were tested together with a laptop, and first of all, I want to talk about headphones. The Lenovo Legion H300 delights with its surround sound, beautiful design, and wire length of 1.85 meters. It should be noted that they are connected via two 3.5 mm connectors, so they are better suited for desktop computers than laptops.

Lenovo Legion M500 RGB Gaming Mouse

Lenovo Legion M500 RGB Gaming Mouse is a beautiful and accurate gaming mouse, but keep in mind that before buying it is always better to try if it fits you. If it fits – you can safely take, because the mouse really shows itself during the gameplay thanks to the sensor with a refresh rate of 1000 Hz.

Legion Gaming Cloth XL mat

The most unusual of all the accessories was the Legion Gaming Cloth XL, and “XL” in the name is not in vain, because it is really very large. The width is 300 millimeters and the length is 900 millimeters. Due to its size, the rug is really very comfortable, comforted by the coating on the edges, thanks to which the rug will not wear out quickly.
