MediaTek MT9602 AI-enabled Smart TV processor
MediaTek has announced the launch of its latest AI-enabled smart TV processor, the MT9602. It is intended for smart TVs with 4K HDR displays, with built-in AI enhancement technologies such as IA-PQ (picture quality) and IA-AQ (audio quality) as well as support for HDMI 2.1a, global HDR codecs, and more.
The MT9602 is equipped with a quad-core processor based on ARM Cortex-A53 and the ARM Mali-G52 MC1 GPU inside. It can support up to three HDMI 2.1a compatible ports, Dolby Atmos surround sound, AV1, and AVS2 decoding, and several HDR standards like Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10 +, BBC HLG, etc.
The chip also incorporates MediaTek-specific technologies, such as IA-PQ and IA-AQ, which work together to optimize videos by improving picture and sound quality in real-time.
The MediaTek MT9602 will appear first in Motorola’s upcoming smart TV line, which is slated to launch on October 9 in India. Motorola Smart TVs will be the first smart TVs to feature Android 10.
