Microsoft Surface Duo Dual Screen Phone
Microsoft Surface Duo the Dual Screen phone is coming to the US market soon, we tell you more about this Android-powered product. While Samsung has just announced that it is working on the second installment of the Galaxy Fold, its foldable phone, Microsoft tells us more about its foldable dual-screen phone.
In a little less than a month, on September 10, 2020, in the United States, the Microsoft Surface Duo will be available for $ 1,399. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Fold which is a foldable screen, here we have two separate screens for a smartphone that folds in half (like a Nintendo DS).
These two 5.6-inch OLED displays have a resolution of 1800 × 1350 pixels with a 4: 3 ratio. When unfolded, the 2 screens form an overall size of 8.1 inches of 2700 × 1800 pixels at a 3: 2 ratio.
The phone runs Android (and yes!), But will not offer 5G.
On the technical side, there is a Snapdragon 855 processor (one of the best on the market) with 6 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage.
We note the presence of an 11MP rear photosensor with x7 digital zoom and which allows filming in 4K at 60fps.
For the battery, they are double for a total of 3577 mAh: a score low enough to manage two screens, but we will see once the product is released. We will not find an NFC chip in the phone (despite a price of almost $ 1400!).
With the dual-screen, you can for example have the keyboard at the bottom and your SMS or Messenger application at the top. Another more practical use case for Microsoft enthusiasts is to view a PowerPoint file on one screen while following a Teams video meeting on the other screen.
