Pokemon Go will stop working on older Android and iOS devices
The October update to Pokémon Go will deprive gamers of some smartphones of the opportunity to play one of the most popular games. The game’s developers have announced that Pokemon Go will stop working on older Android and iOS devices. The company is discontinuing support for some devices running Android and iOS operating systems.
The game will no longer support devices running Android 5, iOS 10, and iOS 11. For owners of Apple smartphones, the game will no longer work on iPhone 5s and iPhone 6, even if you install iOS 12 on it.
“The iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 have only 1 GB of RAM, and we don’t want to hold back the development and implementation of features for the vast majority of gamers who have more modern phones,” the developers explained.
It is unclear whether the game will stop working on the above devices at all, or whether players will be able to continue using older versions of Pokemon GO.
