The device is based on Android 12 with the MIUI 13 shell: the interface is highly functional, but advertising is integrated (and can be disabled). There are two available configurations: 4/64 and 6/128 GB.
The primary camera (13 MP) produces high-quality images in daylight, and it is accompanied by a superfluous 2 MP depth sensor. Video recording is restricted to 1080p at 30 frames per second.
The smartphone’s benefits include a long battery life (up to 10 hours with the screen on), a distinct slot for a flash drive, the presence of NFC, and an accurate side biometric scanner. Overall, an excellent purchase if you need a low-cost device for routine use.
2) Samsung A14 5G: $185
The Galaxy A14 5G is one of the most cost-effective devices with a Dimensity 700 processor. It operates on the most recent version of Android and will receive updates for four years, which is an advantage over affordable Chinese phones.
The A14 features a 6.6-inch PLS display with a resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz; the reserve of luminance is sufficient for use in direct sunlight.
The smartphone has a three-camera system with 50 + 2 + 2 megapixels, but only the primary sensor is functional; there is no wide-angle or zoom lens. Under optimal shooting conditions, the resolution of photographs on the primary module is adequate.
The battery has the standard 5,000 mAh capacity and is compatible with 15 W charging, which must be purchased separately (the power adapter is not included). There is NFC, a MicroSD card port, and an excellent 13-megapixel selfie camera, allowing you to upload unprocessed images to social networks without embarrassment.
If you are searching for an affordable smartphone with a long battery life from a reputable manufacturer, the A14 is the best option.
3) Redmi Note 11E: $135
This is the most affordable smartphone on the market with 5G support and a processor based on the Dimensity 700 architecture. According to the majority of its specifications, the “ash” is identical to the previously reviewed Poco M4.
It has the same 6.58-inch display, a 5000mAh battery with 18-watt charging, and identical case dimensions. The device is made of plastic, which allows it to endure a drop better than glass-encased variants.
Redmi and Poco are distinguished by the Note 11E’s larger quantity of permanent memory (128 GB of storage is included as standard) and 50 MP primary camera. Additionally, an ultra-wide-angle lens was not brought in, but due to the increased resolution, the “redmik” captures clearer daytime images.
The lack of a global version of this model may be a disadvantage; the smartphone itself is Russified and, in theory, ready to function “out of the box”; however, NFC is traditionally not implemented on Chinese-market devices.
4) TCL 30 5G 30: $170
The TCL 30 5G is the only commercially available phone with an AMOLED display and a Dimensity 700 processor. The display has a diagonal of 6.8 inches, Full HD+ resolution, and a standard refresh rate of 60 hertz.
Not a fantasy come true, but an intriguing option if you want to transition from a budget IPS display to one with a more saturated and contrasted image.
The smartphone has 4/128 GB of expandable memory, a triple camera with a 50 MP main module and two 2 MP secondary modules, a battery with a capacity of 5010 mAh with 18-watt charging, a side biometric scanner, NFC, and high-quality speakers.
Here, a full-fledged stereo pair is used (in other manufacturers, a conversational speaker typically accompanies multimedia), so the device sounds excellent. The disadvantage of the TCL 30 5G is a marginally higher price than its competitors, but its benefits are also readily apparent.
5) OUKITEL WP15: $235
A smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer Oukitel that is protected by IP68/IP69K (waterproof) and MIL-STD-810G (shockproof) standards. Due to its resistance to mechanical impact and temperature variations, it can be utilized in the harshest environments.
The device’s primary feature is its 15600 mAh battery, which can last up to a week on a single charge (without gaming) and can function as a power source to recharge other devices.
Regarding other characteristics, there are no frills: the 6.52-inch IPS display has an HD+ resolution, which has a negative impact on image detail but is mitigated by excellent brightness and contrast.
The smartphone has 8/128 GB of memory, a 48-megapixel camera, an NFC module, and a quick and accurate GPS, allowing it to be used as a navigator. The large dimensions and weight (485 grams) of the case, which hinders its portability, are disadvantages. Overall, however, the WP15 is priced appropriately.
These were the most useful smartphones equipped with the Dimensity 700 processor. Recently, MediaTek unveiled its complete replica – the 6020th chip, which manufacturers are already using in 2023’s newest low-cost devices.
