Everything You Need To Know About Amazon Cloud Gaming Service

Amazon Introduces Amazon Luna a Cloud Gaming Service

Amazon Luna: Amazon Cloud Gaming Service

Amazon announced Luna, a new game platform that works by streaming, as competitors like xCloud of Microsoft and Stadia of Google. Luna will launch in October in the US and will be available for Fire TV, Windows, Linux, Mac, and iOS initially, with Android support slated for the following weeks.

Luna +, the premium open-access version, promises “unlimited hours of play” and an “expanding game catalog” for $ 5.99 per month. The service promises to run games in 1080p resolution at 60 FPS, with 4K resolution expected “soon”. A good internet connection is also required.

Amazon Luna Gaming Service

In addition to Amazon Cloud Gaming Service, Luna allows streaming to two devices at the same time and should also work directly in browsers, without the need to download an app or install anything.

The service will be capped at 1080p and 60fps, said George Tsipolitis, Luna’s director of engineering and technology. Amazon recommends internet speeds of 10 Mbps for 1080p or 35 Mbps for 4K. By the end of Basic Access, Amazon aims to have around 50 games in Luna +, including Control, Resident Evil 7, Tacoma, Metro Exodus, and The Sexy Brutale.

Soon the service promises an exclusive Ubisoft channel, possibly with a separate subscription, but without further details. The channel is expected to contain games and DLC from the French producer, such as Assassin’s Creed and Watch Dogs.

The idea is that over time other companies will see their channels launched on Luna, with a separate subscription service.

Luna will also be integrated with Twitch from launch, allowing players to broadcast their matches to the public. As this is an Amazon service, it will also be possible to log into the Amazon Prime Gaming account to redeem and use games.

Amazon Luna Accessories

For now, Luna’s only official accessory is a traditional Bluetooth controller with a look reminiscent of the Nintendo Switch Pro controller. It will sell for $ 50 and will also be linked to Alexa, Amazon’s artificial intelligence, with a button to activate voice commands.

Amazon does guarantee, however, that Luna will be compatible with all current Bluetooth controllers, and this should include controllers for PS4, PS5, Xbox, and other newer consoles on the market.
