1. Mitchell Starc – 24.57 Crore
Following his achievements in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) signed the Australian speedster for an incredible amount of Rs 24.75 crore which makes him the most expensive IPL cricketer of all time.
Starc’s brief tenure in the franchise T20 league has seen him collect 34 wickets from 27 games; nevertheless, he did not play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) until 2016.

3. Sam Curran – 18.5 Crore

Curran’s starting offer was Rs. 2 crores, and he was in high demand after his stellar performance in the T20 World Cup earlier this year, where he won Player of the Tournament. The previous record was held by Chris Morris, however, it has now been surpassed.
4. Cameron Green – 17.50 Crore
The Mumbai Indians have shelled out a whopping Rs 17.50 crore to get the services of Cameron Green is also among the most expensive players of all time in the IPL history.
With a starting price of Rs 2 crore, RCB and MI engaged in a bidding battle for the gifted Australian during the auction.
But before Mumbai Indians won the deal, the bidding immediately heated up and the price for Green finally reached over Rs 7 crores. Because of this, he is now one of the players in the IPL 2023 to watch out for.
5. Ben Stokes – 16.25 Crore
In the IPL 2023 Auction, Ben Stokes was signed by Chennai Super Kings, making him, along with Chris Morris of South Africa, the most expensive buy in IPL history.
RCB and RR competed in the England all-rounder Stokes auction, which began at INR 2 crore before LSG entered at INR 7 crore.
CSK and SRH joined the fight shortly after. Stokes was ultimately acquired by the MS Dhoni-led club for an incredible INR 16.25 crore, which is the third-highest price tag in IPL history.
6. Chris Morris – 16.25 Crore
By shattering Yuvraj Singh’s six-year record as the most expensive cricketer in IPL history, the Rajasthan Royals made history.
Rajasthan Royals bought Chris Morris for a whopping price of 16.25 in the IPL 2021 Auction making him the costliest player at that time.
7. Nicholas Pooran – 16 Crore
At the IPL 2023 auction, the West Indies’ most expensive wicketkeeper-batter was purchased by the Lucknow Super Giants for an incredible Rs 16 crore, making history. With Chennai Super Kings, the bidding process started at Rs. 2 crores, but after intense competition, the price rose to almost Rs. 6 crores.
After placing an initial bid of Rs. 7.25 crore, Lucknow Super Giants prevailed and ultimately paid over Rs. 10 crore for the player.
The player was subsequently signed by Lucknow, making him another expensive buy in IPL history and the fourth most expensive player in IPL 2023 as the Caps withdrew from the bidding war after the price hit Rs. 16 crores.
8. Yuvraj Singh – 16 Crore
In 2015, the Delhi Daredevils bought Yuvraj for 2.6 million at auction. Before him, in 2014, Royal Challengers bought Yuvraj from Bangalore for 2.33 million or Rs 14 crore. But he was released from the team the following year.
9. Rohit Sharma – 16 Crore
The Mumbai Indians also kept their captain, Rohit Sharma, who went on to become the seventh most expensive buy in IPL history after fetching 16 crores in the 2023 IPL auction.
10. Ravindra Jadeja – 16 Crore
In the 2023 IPL auction, cricketer Ravindra Jadeja was retained by CSK for an incredible 16 crore. The eventual champion Rajasthan Royals selected Ravindra Jadeja during the IPL’s first season.
